New Year New Kitchen

Well not a totally new kitchen, just a new built in, new back splash, new hardware, new floor, and new trim. Wow. I already feel overwhelmed. The new built in is looking fabulous! The back splash not so much. We have to take a 10 foot section out and replace it. One of the area hardware stores is having a 15% anything you can fit in bag sale, yay. Off I went with hopes of finding a back splash we {mostly I} liked. Of all the options that fit in our budget {extremely tiny} I liked these the best...

The arabesque tile was pretty but almost gave me its a 'bathroom tile' feeling. The subway tile was pretty but I wasn't sure if I wanted to tile. The work involved, ugh. Then I headed over to the plastic tiles for ceilings and back splashes and found my 3rd option.

I grabbed a piece of the faux tin back splash. After talking to the hubby, I tossed out the idea of the arabesque tile...hubby didn't like it.

You know I really should listen to my mother. I had called her about which she thought would look best, she said subway tile {and she hates tile}. As soon as I got back on the road to home I had a gut feeling I should do subway tile. I got home and my eyes and hubby confirmed my gut. Up note on the subway the price was cheap enough and there being such little was space that hubby okayed the idea of tiling to the ceiling. HAPPY DANCE!!!

When I am done it should look something like this...minus white trim {not a fan}.
