Amy's Rice Mac & Cheese {Review}

So recently I had some pretty bad test results and my doctor suggested going gluten and dairy free. Sigh, I love bread and cheese so it has been tough. I am being the most adventurous I have ever been about food...unless its for my puppies.

So grocery shopping has been fun when your stand by staples have been knocked out. Luckily {unlucky?} my kids, mom, and other family members have food sensitivities and allergies. This makes grocery shopping for my new diet somewhat easier. I can just call up my mom and say "hey, is this worth trying?"  One of the hopefully yummy things I found is Amy's Rice Mac & Cheese, read on to find out.

Amy's Rice Mac & Cheese

Amy's Rice Mac & Cheese

Amy's Rice Mac & Cheese is gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, and vegan. Whew a mouthful! My favorite, no GMOs! I attached a picture for you of the ingredients {and here is a link to this entree}.

Amy's Rice Mac & Cheese Ingredients

Amy's Rice Mac & Cheese looked like your average frozen meal.

Amy's Rice Mac & Cheese, pre-cooked

You can cook it in the oven, toaster oven, or microwave. Normally I try not to use the microwave a lot, but I was hungry and 40 minutes in the oven or toaster oven after preheating was just too much. The instructions called for 3 minutes on power level 1000 I believe. Honestly, I have no clue how to adjust my microwave to that setting so I winged it. I cooked it for 3 minutes and it was still not quite cooked, so I stirred it up some then cooked it for another minute. Perfect!

Amy's Ric Mac & Cheese, ready to eat

I have had other foods from Amy's and they were good so I was hopeful for Amy's Rice Mac & Cheese. I am so glad I tried it. The texture was spot on for a mac & cheese, the only thing I wished was it to have a bit more cheddar like in taste. That could be just because that I always add some cheddar to my mac & cheese. I will definitely be buying more next time I am in the grocery store.

I would give Amy's Rice Mac & Cheese 4/5 stars.
